Hnúšťa

The town of Hnúšťa will captivate the visitor with several historical and natural beauties. There are many mines and buildings of defunct businesses in the area, which refer to the rich industrial history of Hnúšť.

Directly in the city you will find several attractions, such as Petrivald's Villa or the Museum of Socialist Curiosities. Catalpa bignóniovitá, the largest in central Slovakia, is also worth seeing. This 170-year-old foreign tree, with a trunk circumference of almost 4 meters and a height of 11 meters, can be found in the Mariássy Garden. At present, the so-called Turkish Bridge, located near the local part of Maša, has become the most popular locality for both domestic and cross-country visitors.

In the summer months, the town of Hnúšťa operates a summer swimming pool, a summer cinema in the amphitheater and a cycle bus riding on the Muránska planina. They will advise you more in the lobby of the House of Culture, where you will find the Tourist Information Center , which offers visitors a more detailed overview of the city's attractions and surroundings, as well as other services, such as bicycle and electric bicycle rental with accessories.
