Tourist Information Center Hnúšťa

The Tourist Information Center (TIC) has been located in the vestibule of the Ján Francisci Rimavský House of Culture since June 2016.

The main task of the TIC is to inform residents and visitors of the city about local realities and tourist events in the wider area, thus helping to raise awareness of the Rimava region and the uniqueness of the city of Hnúšťa. The basic idea is to offer tourists all services and information in one place.

During the season, TIC actively helps residents and visitors of the city to get to know local attractions through tourist advice, or in the form of services that facilitate getting to know the city and its wider surroundings. Such services mainly include the seasonal rental of bicycles and electric bicycles with accessories for children and adults of all ages and the organization of cycle bus rides and other excursion events designed to explore the surroundings.

During the months of July, August and September, a cycle bus will take you and your bikes from Hnúšťa to the Muránska Planina National Park. Along the route (approx. 20 km) you can see groundhogs and horses living in the wild, Muráň Castle, Poludnica lookoutpoint, or a mysterious cave.

The TIC stand provides a number of information brochures about the possibilities of tourism in the wider surroundings of Hnúšťa. Visitors can buy souvenirs with motifs of the city, Slovakia, surrounding attractions, as well as maps, tourist guides and books about the region and Slovakia.

Domestic artists, writers, carvers and product manufacturers also found space here. Thanks to the cooperation with MAS Malohont, TIC has expanded its assortment with products marked with the Gemer – Malohont regional product brand.

The project does not end with the opening of the Tourist Information Center. In addition to providing information, the goal is to start creating our own tourism products, educational trails, cycle routes and even more to promote interesting places in Hnúšt and its surroundings.
