The surroundings of the town are decorated with natural beauties, the remains of mines, smelters and gills, while in the center of Revúca you will be enchanted by the historic buildings. One of them has made a significant contribution to the history of Slovakia. The first Slovak Evangelical grammar school.

The first Slovak Gymnasium (secondary grammar school) in Revúca was the first Gymnasium in Hungary where classes were taught in the Slovak language. Today, its premises house a beautiful museum, an information center and a small cafe.

This extremely valuable technical monument and an important document of iron production in Central Europe is one of the most beautiful blast furnaces in Slovakia.

The bridge is accessible from the village of Magnezitovce, and its visit can be combined with the passage of the nearby Koprášsky and Slavošovský tunnels, which lie on the same unreachable railway route.

The bunker in Bretka, which was hit by a rocket from the legendary Russian weapon - Katyusha, has been left to its fate since the war. In Jesenské, a group of enthusiasts took the initiative to restore the bunker, which is gradually renovating it and making it accessible to the public.

Compared to the more famous Slavošovce neighbor, the Koprášsky tunnel is much shorter, its length is less than 250 m. However, it is possible to go through it without artificial lighting.

Today, this 2-kilometer tunnel is partially flooded and since 1997 has been declared a protected area to protect the wintering ground for bats. The Tisovec portal is completely flooded, but the Muráň portal is worth a turn, which is, depending on the weather, accessible from the blue tourist sign leading from Muráň to Tisovec.

Gemersko-Malohontské múzeum in Rimavská Sobota is the fifth oldest museum in Slovakia. It documents the natural and cultural heritage of the Gemer-Malohont region. It is located in the building of former artillery barracks from the second half of the 19th century.

With an inner diameter of 11 meters, the Rotunda of St. Margaret of Antioch is the largest Romanesque rotunda of its kind in Slovakia and throughout Central Europe. Like many Gemer Gothic buildings, the interior of the rotunda is decorated with rare frescoes.

Kyjatice will impress the visitor with several interesting things. A small medieval church with beautiful fresco decoration, which is part of the Gothic road, a characteristic wooden toy, which today bears the brand of the regional product Gemer-Malohont and is known throughout the area. And last but not least, an archaeological open-air museum.

Betliar Manor is a truly luxurious residence. It is the only manor house in Slovakia, which has been preserved after 1945 with its original equipment and collections. In addition to the county apartments or the beautiful historical library, you will also see exhibits of exotic trophies and Egyptology with Egyptian mummies. The residence is surrounded by an extensive English park.

Enjoy a new view of Revúca, or the steep cliffs of the Muránská plain from the arcade of the Evangelical church in Revúca.
