Jelšava
Jelšava is a town with a rich mining and ironworks tradition. In the 14th century, it was the second most important trading center and iron supplier in Hungary. In the 19th century, there were an incredible forty today bell workshops, whose products were highly valued for their sonorous tones and subtlety, and shipped not only in Hungary, but also throughout Europe, parts of Asia and Africa. The dominant feature of the city center is the monumental building of the Coburg manor, which is currently under reconstruction. After an agreement, its tours are also possible. In cooperation with the civic association Čierne diery, it is planned to build a unique adventure accommodation for tourists from all over Slovakia in the highest part of the manor. Also worth seeing is the magnificent Roman Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul and the renovated City Museum in its neighborhood.
Two seasonal novelties have been prepared for tourists in Jelšava since this season. The first is recreational in the section Teplá Voda - Jelšava, road bridge. Lovers of boating tourism can discover the beauty of Muránka individually or in groups in one- to four-seater kayaks, which can be lent by the Jelšava Municipal Services with the accessories of the council. The second novelty is the possibility of renting with a subsequent descent from the Hrádok hill to Jelšava, 6 km away and 360 meters below. There are 5 sprung scooters for adults and 3 for children, with helmets, protective gloves and child protection. As part of the services, the transport of tourists to the starting point is always offered. Definitely do not go to Hrádek (only 1 km away from the start of the scooters). Due to the richness and diversity of forms of aragonite filling, it ranks among the most valuable aragonite caves in the world.rafting on the river Muráňmountain scootersOchtinská aragonite cave
