During feudalism, there were several bell-casting workshops in Gemeri: in Dobšina, Rožňava, Štítnik and Vlachovo. Today, we have only one successor of this craft in the region. Róbert Slíž from Rožňava won the title of Young Master of the Year at the Craft Festival in Budapest.

Gemersko-Malohontské múzeum in Rimavská Sobota is the fifth oldest museum in Slovakia. It documents the natural and cultural heritage of the Gemer-Malohont region. It is located in the building of former artillery barracks from the second half of the 19th century.

The blast furnace in Červeňany is a perfect example of advanced metallurgical technology in Gemer in the 19th century. One of the most important mining monuments in the region and part of the European railway route.

The Tourist Information Center is located in the vestibule of the Ján Francisci Rimavský House of Culture. For easier exploration of the city and its wider surroundings, it offers seasonal rental of bicycles and E-bikes. In the summer, a cycle bus runs from Hnúšťa to the Muránska Planina National Park.

Its location and facilities predetermine it for perfect sports and relaxation. This environment was also loved by the Bulgarian Tsar Ferdinand Coburg, who situated the construction of his hunting lodge on the Horn. The Gothic evangelical church in Štítnik is a pearl among Gemer churches. The interior of the church hides great artistic wealth. Around 200 m² of frescoes represent the largest preserved example of medieval wall painting in Slovakia.

Textile products with traditional embroidery include not only folk clothing, but also miniature folk costumes and gift items. Gabriela Medveďová from Hrachovo has been producing them for more than 5 years.

The horse club near Tisovec offers a unique experience of connecting people with the beautiful nature of Muránská planina in the company of horses.

The church with Romanesque and Gothic elements is particularly interesting with its rare frescoes. There is an archeoskansen of Kyjatice culture nearby.

Kyjatice will impress the visitor with several interesting things. A small medieval church with beautiful fresco decoration, which is part of the Gothic road, a characteristic wooden toy, which today bears the brand of the regional product Gemer-Malohont and is known throughout the area. And last but not least, an archaeological open-air museum.

The bridge is accessible from the village of Magnezitovce, and its visit can be combined with the passage of the nearby Koprášsky and Slavošovský tunnels, which lie on the same unreachable railway route.

Betliar Manor is a truly luxurious residence. It is the only manor house in Slovakia, which has been preserved after 1945 with its original equipment and collections. In addition to the county apartments or the beautiful historical library, you will also see exhibits of exotic trophies and Egyptology with Egyptian mummies. The residence is surrounded by an extensive English park.

The dominant feature of the Zbojská saddle is a beautiful lookout tower. Together with the Zbojská saddle, they are considered the gateway to the Muránska Planina National Park and the Gemer-Malohont region.

It offers its visitors swimming in the water tank or in the pool complex with drinking and geothermal water, as well as the rental of boats, paddleboards and pedal boats. Lovers of fishing and horse riding will also enjoy themselves here.

Teplý Vrch water reservoir is one of the warmest in Slovakia. In the summer months, the water here reaches a temperature of up to 28 degrees. Its water surface is mainly used for swimming, yachting, fishing and water sports. Here you will find beaches, a toboggan, water bike and paddle board rentals.

Get to know Upper Gemer from the saddle of a bicycle. You can also handle demanding cycling tours on an electric bike. With an auxiliary electric motor, you don't have to be in good condition to cross even 100 km long routes in hilly terrain.

The circuit with an elevation of 270 m and a length of 4.7 km leads through the wild nature around the Zbojská saddle. The region where the legendary Tisov robber Jakub Surovec and his retinue once robbed is a great place to relax and get to know each other.

Head to the majestic Castle with the remains of the castle, to the source of the Rimava, or to the Devil's Valley, reminiscent of the gorges of the Slovak Paradise. The cog railway line, which leads from Tisovec to Pohronská Polhora, is also unique. It is the only one of its kind in Central Europe.

The unique Legion train exhibition was in our region for the first time in July! A faithful replica of the military train with which Czechoslovak legionnaires made their way along the Trans-Siberian Railway to Vladivostok in the years 1918-1920 has arrived at the Tisovec and Rimavská Sobota stations.

The renovated calvary above Rožňavou offers a nice view of the city and the plains of the Slovak Karst.

Jesenské (hun.: Feled) is a village located in the southwestern part of Rimava river basin, 10 km south of Rimavská Sobota city. With a population of 2,249, it is the largest village and the most important railway junction of southern Gemer. From a tourist point of view, the surrounding area of the village is particularly interesting for the remains of the nearby Širkovce castle and the military bunker (the so-called ROPík) from 1937.

Have you already visited the third sister lookout tower Maginhrad and Slopovo? The Vŕšok viewpoint has been standing on the hill of the same name above the village of Rimavská Baňa since 2015. Even though it is the smallest, it offers a remarkable view from the hill of Trstie in the north, to Hungary in the south.
