Jelšava bells were exported to all of Europe, but also to the Middle East and Egypt. Special bells, so-called Parisbells, were produced for the fiacres driving in the metropolis of France. In the 19th century, there were as many as forty bell makers workshops in Jelšava. Today, only Jaroslav Bastyúr from Silica is dedicated to their production.
