Have you already visited the third sister lookout tower Maginhrad and Slopovo? The Vŕšok viewpoint has been standing on the hill of the same name above the village of Rimavská Baňa since 2015. Even though it is the smallest, it offers a remarkable view from the hill of Trstie in the north, to Hungary in the south.

In good weather, you can see Kráľova hola mountain, 80 kilometers away, from this most southern Gemer lookout tower.

If you want to see what it looks like in a mine, a real mining train, the 3rd oldest steam cylinder in the world, or beautiful works of art, the expositions of the Mining Museum are the right places to go when visiting Rožňava.

An educational trail of the same name leads through the Drienčany karst, which takes you to caves, deep sinkholes, karst lakes, but also to a beautiful forest with foreign hickories and majestic oaks.

A clever, widely known regional delicacy. The several times interleaved sourdough hides a rich sweet filling. Today, Muráň buns are baked with various fillings - jam, poppy, nougat, walnut, cherry, blueberry, cheese, strawberry, raspberry, but also currant.

You will definitely know wines from Modra, Pezinok or Tokaj. How about tasting wine from Gemer? Viticulture has a deep tradition here.

Jelšava bells were exported to all of Europe, but also to the Middle East and Egypt. Special bells, so-called Parisbells, were produced for the fiacres driving in the metropolis of France. In the 19th century, there were as many as forty bell makers workshops in Jelšava. Today, only Jaroslav Bastyúr from Silica is dedicated to their production.

Pottery is one of the distinctive features of our region. The names of villages such as Hrnčiarska Ves, or Hrnčiarske Zalužany. In the past, there were almost 40 important pottery sites in the region, which employed hundreds of people.

Guba is hand-woven product made of 100% sheep´s wool. During their production, pods of woolen hair are caught in the weft state, which creates the appearance of a furry fabric, which is used as a carpet, clothing, or an aesthetic home accessory. Ján Fotta from Klenovec is the only one Guba maker in Slovakia

In the village under the fabulous Maginhrad, you can visit a 200-year-old mill with its exhibits, a Gothic church with the oldest preserved painted wooden coffered ceiling in Slovakia, or a 17-meter-high observation tower above the village.

At Gemer-Malohont Region, the soup was traditionally always served with noodles, sometimes they were replaced with gágoríky. Their preparation was very laborious, so they were eaten only on festive occasions, at weddings, christenings or Christmas.

Experience beautiful nature in the form of a full-day hike across the Plešivec Karst Plateau, which will show you interesting places such as Serényi's cistern or various sinkholes and slags that you can find here.

The church hides rare paintings not only in the interior, but also on the exterior walls. The painting of the Holy Trinity in the form of a seated God with three faces and four eyes deserves attention.

The church is an important document of advanced Gothic architecture in Gemer in the 14th century. The frescoes here were created by Italian masters who were probably invited to Plešivec by Juraj Bebek. In the interior, there is also a gothic tombstone of Ladislav Bebek made of pink marble.
